Tamoxifen has been distributed as an antiestrogen used by athletes in Post Cycle Therapy. When taking the drug, there is a blocking effect on the estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland and the resulting negative feedback is broken. As a result of the termination of this mechanism, the recovery of GnRH production begins. Under the influence of this process, the pituitary gland enhances the secretion of luteinizing and folliculating hormones by the pituitary gland. This starts the next link in the chain – the restoration of the secretion of natural testosterone by the testes.

When using the steroid cycle, the use of aromatase inhibitors is recommended as agents that act in conjunction with Tamoxifen. Post Cycle Therapy start the last week of the steroid cycle, using the drug at a daily dosage of 10-20 mg. Duration of use Tamoxifen – 2-3 weeks.

With the use of steroids in the cycle, which do not show the ability to aromatization, the use of inhibitors becomes excessive; therefore, it is sufficient to use only Tamoxifen.

Means of doping control can detect traces of the drug for 6 months. Therefore, athletes who regularly take part in official competitions, use Tamoxifen risky because of the threat of disqualification.
